In a challenging professional services market, Deloitte also announced annual revenues of $1.162B for the year ending May 31 2014, up by 6.5% per cent on its revenues from the previous year.
The Western Sydney appointments, which take effect on July 1 2014, include four new partners promoted from within Deloitte, a senior partner transferring from Deloitte Brisbane and 10 experienced lateral hires.
Nine of which joined following the recent union with Moore Stephens Western Sydney.
The four newly promoted partners are:
• Andrew Coleman, (Assurance & Advisory)
• Theo Psychogios (Financial Advisory Services - infrastructure advisory and contestability).
• Eamon Fenwick (Tax).
• Karl Gessner (Deloitte Private).
Western Sydney Managing Partner Danny Rezek said: “With 30% revenue growth over the last 12 months, we have expanded to a 350 person Western Sydney practice, with a total of 35 partners across our Parramatta and Norwest offices, making us the fastest growing Deloitte office in Australia.”
“We believe this growth will only continue as Sydney expands west driven by one of the fastest growing urban populations in Australia and an extremely competitive commercial property market.
“Significant infrastructure investments, such as the $11.5 billion West Connex project and the second airport at Badgerys Creek, will serve as a catalyst for job creation, investment and further economic growth,” he added.
“However, while we are making progress there is still much to be done. I remain determined to maintain Deloitte’s leadership role in the Western Sydney business community as the professional services provider that is best equipped to help local, national and international businesses position for prosperity,” Mr Rezek said.
One key area of future growth is helping businesses in Western Sydney to grow through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and asset acquisitions.
