In a spectacular display of local support, the show sold out in less than a day, highlighting the community’s strong interest in live entertainment and marking another major milestone for the newly revived venue.
This follows the success of The Regent’s opening program, with three of the venue’s first four shows (Ian Moss, Michael Paynter & Ross Noble) also selling out. And last week, ABBA - Thank You For The Music on Saturday, July 4 also sold out.
Established in 1935, The Regent Theatre in Richmond has been at the heart of entertaining locals across Greater Western Sydney for 90 years.
The venue holds a special place in Australian entertainment history, having once been famously purchased and restored by television legend Mike Walsh in 1976.
Following years of deterioration, The Regent was in danger of being lost for good. But now, the new owners have stepped in to breathe new life into the theatre, lovingly undertaking a massive transformation and upgrading its state-of-the-art facilities to provide the best possible artist and guest experience.
“It’s a real thrill to see the community responding so positively to our initial programming line up,” said owner Duncan MacKay. “For The Regent Theatre to host and support great Australian artists is a real honour. And we have so many more exciting live show announcements to come.”
For those lucky enough to secure tickets to Guy’s historic performance at The Regent, audiences can expect some of the biggest songs from his career, including viral fan favourites Who’s That Girl, Like It Like That, Standing With You, and ARIA Song of the Year, 4x platinum smash Choir.
The show will also feature standout tracks from his latest album, 100 Times Around The Sun, including APRA Award-winning track Maybe, anthemic Get It Done, and powerhouse ballad The Keys.
Audiences will also be mesmerised by some of Guy’s most beloved hits, including Battle Scars, Before I Go, and many more.
Guy will be donating $1, plus GST, per ticket sold to The Sebastian Foundation, a charity set up by Guy and Jules
Sebastian to promote adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
Also announced this week is Thelma Plum - the 2025 ARIA Award winning Best Pop Release artist. Thelma will bring her new national tour to Richmond, as part of the theatre’s growing program of Australian entertainment.
