THE BAVARIAN OPENS AT ROUSE HILL

500 free hot dogs for launch day

THE Bavarian is bringing its legendary, family-friendly dining, unrivalled range of Bavarian food and beers, sports-centric entertainment, and 500 free hot dogs to Greater Western Sydney when it opens its doors next week.

The Bavarian Rouse Hill opens at 11am on Monday, 14 May at Town Centre shopping precinct, with 500 free hot dogs distributed from midday.

The restaurant boasts 350 seats, including outdoor seating for around 30 guests, in a convenient, fast-casual/counter-service combination. Forty full-time and casual positions have been created.

Guests can experience a true taste of Bavarian hospitality, from hearty signature dishes, to those with a contemporary Bavarian twist, and 17 fabulous beers on tap, including imported favourites Löwenbräu, Franziskaner, Stiegl and Hofbräu and a large range of local craft beers supplied by Urban Craft Brewing Co.

The restaurant features the same fresh, modern look and feel as the rest of The Bavarian clan in nine locations across in Sydney. Bright motifs and artwork are complemented by rustic elements that reflect the restaurant’s true Bavarian heritage, including large, stone feature walls, alpine timber finishes and beer barrel tables.

A spacious, central bar offers counter dining and features the group’s signature stein chandelier. Guests can pull up a stool, select a beer and appreciate the distinctive Bavarian experience of drinking from an impressive 1-litre glass stein. Several large-screen TVs promise an exciting schedule of live sports games.

The diverse menu offers something for everyone, including hearty Bavarian favourites such as the famous crispy pork knuckle, crackling pork belly, a range of classic German and gourmet sausages, generous shared platters, and an assortment of schnitzels, including The Schnitzelmeister that weighs in at a whopping 1kg.

The Bavarians’ new range of “loaded schnitzels” are exceptional value for money at $29 each, with the Mexican Schnitty generously topped with corn chips, chilli con carne, Jack cheese, guacamole and sour cream; The Australian Schnitty loaded with Cheddar cheese, bacon and egg; and The American Schnitty bursting with bacon, maple and waffle. Hawaiian and Canadian loaded schnitties are also available.

The Bavarian brings some of the best value daily deals to Greater Western Sydney, which are available Monday to Thursday, from 6pm. Guests can try to beat their personal best every Monday with the legendary All You Can Eat Meat Platter ($39 per person), which is refilled with sausages, pork belly, schnitzels and more.

On Tuesdays its $20 Schnitz Blitz, which combines a schnitzel and $300ml beer. Wednesdays celebrate hump day with a $20 sausage and beer, and Thursdays are 2-for-1 cocktails – the perfect way to ease a late-night shopping spree. Happy Hour runs from 4pm to 7pm daily with $5 beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and $1 chicken wings.

A $15 lunch special combines an über schnitzel with a 300ml beer Monday to Thursday from 11am to 4pm.
Sundays are all about children, with those under 12 eating for free from the kids’ menu. Face painting, entertainment and other kids’ activities are also available and combine to create a fabulous family day out.

A daily epic sports feast ($140 for 4 people) includes a 2-litre beer tower, giant pretzels, rack of ribs, a whole Bavarian roast chicken, ½ kilogram of chicken wings and sausages.

Rockpool Dining Group Chief Executive Officer Thomas Pash said there was a lot of buzz in the Hills district for The Bavarian’s impending arrival.

“We’re bringing an unbeatable menu of big meals, deals and flavours to Rouse Hill,” Mr Pash said. “Our menu is bolstered with 17 draught beers, some that we import from Bavaria and others that are brewed here and supplied by our brewing arm, Urban Craft Brewing Co, so it’s a very unique offering in the area.”

A range of lighter bites, including salted pretzels, chicken wings, haus-made pickles and dips, spicy squid and healthy build-your-own salads and wraps, offers something for all different tastes.
