“If people can see you putting money into a community event, they are more likely to become a customer,” Jennifer told WSBA
“We are proud to be a sponsor of the Family Festival, which is held in Holroyd Gardens.
“For $3000, we have our business name on banners and other promotional material as well as being announced in advertising.
“Sponsorship of community, especially family, events is a definite advantage for businesses of all sizes.”
And Jennifer should know. Her business also sponsors children’s sporting teams, charities and chamber of commerce events. It is no wonder she is attracted to family events, as her business is a family affair.
Originally in public relations, Jennifer has found more satisfaction in the franchise her father Joe Khoury took on, with her husband, mother, brother and sister-in-law also part of the company.
“My father had worked for Telstra for 16 years, eventually becoming state manager and he could see a need for centres that catered for businesses, so he took on the franchise and we all became involved,” Jennifer said.
“Working with family may not be for everyone but it works for us. Running your own business means you put your heart into it and don’t mind if you work six days a week.”
Jennifer said Telstra backed her drive to support local good causes and events.
