Smart Work Hub works well for Tamlyn's team

By Red Dwyer

THE hub has been worthwhile for Tamlyn and her team.

“This is a great asset for small business that either want to work part time or full time at the hub. I would highly recommend trying the space out.

"I can come in 24/7, when it suits me,” said Ms Tamlyn Van Zyst, director of Tamlyn Creative.

Ms Van Zyst was referring to the Oran Park Smart Work Hub which offers a modern workspace and professional network for people who can work remotely from their normal office

The hub is one of five established by the state government in its Smart Work Hub Pilot Program which offers commuters a facility, or space, as an alternative to either working in their normal place of work or working from home.

The Oran Park Smart Work Hub, along with others in Penrith, Rouse Hill, Wyong and Gosford, offer a wide range of facilities for corporate clients or casual users, including fast broadband, Wi-Fi, video conferencing, meeting spaces, kitchens and onsite IT support.

The Oran Park Smart Work Hub, for example, has 44 members representing a wide range of organisations, such as, an airline, building, government, finance, IT, marketing and real estate.

“The hub is an opportunity to swap the commute for working closer to home, or to connect with others who are growing businesses in the region,” said  Jeff Boulous, of The Greenfields Development Company which established the hub with the “invaluable“ assistance of NSW Trade and Investment.

The hub is accessible 24/7 for members on a swipe pass system which is great for members who need flexibility in the times they work, Mr Boulous said.

“Oran Park Smart work hub has been such a great experience for me and my business for the past five months,” said Ms Van Zyst, of Tamlyn Creative, who was one of the first members of the hub.in the Oran Park Podium.

“Use of quiet space, fast internet and allowing to collaborate with other fellow members has created a fantastic culture around the open space …  the Smart Work Hub has allowed me to use my time more efficiently being close to home”.

Mr Boulous said Ms Tamlyn and her team, previously based in Liverpool, were working from their new office in the Oran Park Podium, with the finishing touches nearing completion as Western Sydney Business Access went to press

Membership of the hub starts from $180 per month and offers a flexible month-to-month arrangement

Oran Park Town, in which the Podium is an integral part, is a joint development by The Greenfields Development Company and UrbanGrowth NSW.
