This limited-edition book is a unique and daring presentation of a local icon – Queen Street, St Marys. The stories are told through a collection of poems, writings, conversations, illustrations and photographs, as well as QR digital links.
Surfaces, Angles and Corners: Queen Street St Marys, is the product of community engagement and creative partnerships, and is the feather in the cap of the Queen Street Riches and Textures (QSRT) 2016 project.
The book includes works by thirteen local creative writers and four art students from TAFE Nepean Arts and Design Centre, and was edited by leading artist and mentor Angela Stretch.
Penrith Mayor Councillor John Thain said the book was an impressive display of local talent and a beautiful tribute to a local land mark.
Surfaces, Angles and Corners: Queen Street St Marys was produced by St Marys Corner Community and Cultural Precinct through the Queen Street Riches and Textures project.
The project was supported by St Marys Creative Writers Group and SMACD, Nepean TAFE and TAFE art teachers, WOW FM St Marys and Fusion St Marys.
