Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne has called on Baulkham Hills residents and businesses to take have a say in the direction of their town centre.
“The rejuvenation of Baulkham Hills Town Centre is something that excites me. The thought of breathing new life into this important area is something that we can work on together,” Mayor Byrne said.
“The draft plans signal more residential development, more business development, improvements to public transport, better pedestrian and cycling links and improvements to the streetscape to name a few.”
Mayor Byrne said that Baulkham Hills Town Centre was one of the three significant town centres in The Hills Shire along with Castle Hill and Rouse Hill.
The initial implementation of the plans would be the upgrade of the streetscape, including new street pavement, bus shelters and street furniture.
“We know how important the look and design of a location is to attracting investment and we want to make Baulkham Hills Town Centre a very attractive place for future residents and businesses.”
The draft master plan is on exhibition from Tuesday, August 19 until Friday, September 19, 2014.
The plan can be viewed at www.thehills.nsw.gov.au under Major Plans on Exhibition or at Council’s Customer Service Centre.
