NSW Acting Premier and Minister for Tourism Troy Grant unveiled Destination NSW’s Top Ten Adventures, as part of a campaign showcasing the best locations and leisure activities for families looking for things to see and do.
Penrith Whitewater Stadium, which was purpose built for the canoe/kayak slalom events in Sydney 2000 Olympics, is the only man-made whitewater course of its kind in theSouthern Hemisphere.
The course has all the features and characteristics of a wild river, and is fuelled by 14,000litres of raging whitewater per second.
Thrill-seekers and water-sport enthusiasts can take part in guided and self-guided whitewater rafting, as well as whitewater kayaking. Lessons and courses are also offered to people of all ages and abilities.
People interested in learning more about this world class facility and the activities offered there can go along to a free ‘Come and Try’ kayaking event, which is being held on Monday, January 26 from 10am-3pm. No bookings are required.
