THE FRANCHISE THAT CLEANS UP

Start-up targets fastest growing region

By Di Bartok

IF you want to clean up in business, grabbing a slice of a leading global cleaning business could be the way to go, especially in the burgeoning greater west of Sydney.

That was the thinking that led businessmen Andrew Barker and partner Sam Clifford to start up the NSW arm of Jan-Pro, an innovative commercial cleaning business, in the heart of Parramatta.

Recently settled in their Phillip St offices, they are now calling on anyone interested in buying a franchise in this successful company to come forward.

In the fastest growing region of Australia, there are plenty of offices of all sizes to clean.

Mr Barker said franchisees were given full support, with training, administration tasks and marketing all taken care of.

“The offices we clean range from doctors’ surgeries, banks, churches, childcare centres up to big corporate offices,” Mr Barker said.

“Our products are water-less and as chemical-free as possible and the emphasis is on quality cleaning.”

To preserve the brand’s reputation, the company checks the quality of a franchisees’s work and helps with finding the right people to be cleaners.

“Franchisees include people who have run other businesses, or have wanted to run a business after years of working for others,” Mr Barker said. “People with reduncancies are also interested.”

Mr Barker has held executive positions at other commercial cleaning franchises.

He is passionate about his business, joking it was “the world’s second oldest profession when you think about it. You always have to clean up after everything.”

Franchises cost from $16,500 up to $90,000. For further information call 1300 JAN PRO or 03 9077 0075, 02 4580 9595.
