Pheonix Builders is planning the ultra modern182-room complex next to Westfield Parramatta which will allow connecting drone flights to Western Sydney Airport and Sydney CBD .
The development was originally part of tranche six of the State Government’s fast-tracked projects which was announced in September 2020.
The 18-storey development, which is planned to open in 2023, would have a four-level podium and two communal landscaped areas within the tower.
It is planned for Aird Street, Parramatta.
Each floor has 13 rooms and each measures around 6m by 2.65m, a design which gained mixed reviews from City of Parramatta councillors in the initial stages of its development.
The four-star hotel would be added under the Value Suites brand which currently has quality hotel complexes in Penrith and Alexandria's Green Square.
The slim hotel planned for the 658sq m site in Parramatta was designed by Mako Architecture.
Mako Architecture won the design excellence competition with its tall, slender built form which had cut-out features at levels four and 12, and the rooftop landing space.
It is estimated construction of a hotel on the well positioned site will cost $21.4M.
The surrounding area is currently undergoing a rapid transition from low rise to high rise.
It is at the gateway to Parramatta City from business and travellers from the north and towards the residential and domestic suburb of Harris Park to the south.
There were also plans to add artwork to the site potentially drawing inspiration from a karaoke bar which used to be on the site using LED lighting and decorative screening.
Parramatta council last year approved a 35-storey development next to the Westfield shopping centre.
Pheonix Builders also lodged plans for a $102M four-building development in Lidcombe in March.
