Hills Shire Mayor Clr Andrew Jefferies said the Hills Building and Design Awards was a great opportunity to reward the builders who strive for excellence and help make the Hills one of the most desirable locations in Sydney.
“These awards are about encouraging a culture of excellence within the construction and design industries,” Mayor Jefferies said.
“Although the types of housing are changing, standards remain high in the Hills and we want to see that continue for years to come.”
This year there are two new categories including interior design and Knock Down and Rebuild of homes.
“Encouraging the Knock Down and Rebuilding of homes is something I’m passionate about. While our more established suburbs have some fantastic homes, the rejuvenation of the area with new housing stock will see these suburbs continue to flourish.
“Council is also doing its part to encourage knock down and rebuild with $2000 grants for renovations valued at more than $250,000.
